Bat Walk at Tanyfron
Did you know that there are 18 different species of bat in the UK?
No? Neither did the group of u3a members who joined guides Leah and Geraint looking and listening for bats around the nature walks in Tanyfron. Although we only managed to spot two types - the Common Pipistrelle and the Noctule - it was a thoroughly enjoyable evening walk learning about bats and insects.
TREASURE HUNT 18 August 2026
This year's Treasure Hunt, set by Ken Jones and Alan Sutton, was based around Wrexham City Centre.
Nine teams, totally thirty-five members, participated. Congratulations to the winning team - 'Quil' who solved the clues and worked out the riddles, comprising of Carolyn McKenzie, Julie Chambers, Sue Holland and Ruth Povey.
Inevitably there was tea and cake for everyone who participated. Thanks to Julie for the cake and Alan, Wendy and Alison for helping to organise the event.
