Our monthly meetings are opportunities for all Wrexham u3a members and prospective new members to meet and find out about our current events and discuss the activities we offer with the Groups’ Coordinators. They are held on the third Tuesday of each month, excluding August and December, in the Memorial Hall, Bodhyfryd, Wrexham. Doors open from 1.30 pm with hot drinks available. At 2 pm a talk is given by an invited speaker, usually lasting an hour. Topics for these talks cover a wide range of interest and details for each month are posted on the web-site.
COFFEE MORNINGS
Our coffee mornings are held monthly on the second Tuesday from 10.30 am - 12.00 noon in The Hwb, Rossett LL12 0DS. These are open to all Wrexham u3a members – no need to formally join the group or book – just turn up.
THEATRE VISITS AND LIVE SCREENINGS
The members of this group are given the opportunity to go to plays at Theatre Clwyd, Mold and at the Grove Park Theatre in Wrexham. They also go to live theatre screenings at the Odeon in Eagles Meadow. Updated information is always available at the Wrexham u3a Monthly Meetings held on the third Tuesday of every month. Members make their own way to and from the venues.
DAY TRIPS and HOLIDAYS
Our Day Trips are held regularly throughout the year, once a month, mainly on a Saturday. Coach transport is provided, leaving from a central Wrexham point. Examples of places visited in the past are Bakewell, the RHS Garden Bridgewater, Hardwick Hall, the Viking Festival at York and they have often visited National Trust properties.
There are also occasional trips to places farther afield such as Brighton and Scotland or for special occasions such as 'Tinsel and Turkey' events, where overnight stays in a hotel are arranged.
Information about these events is available on the 'Groups' page and at the Members' monthly meetings at the Memorial Hall.
