Over a hundred members of Wrexham u3a celebrated the 20th Anniversary of the inaugural meeting on Tuesday 17th February at Wrexham's Memorial Hall, where our President and founding member Derrick Gwilliam invited all to join in a toast to the next decade.
Four founding members were given Honorary membership of Wrexham u3a, Derrick Gwilliam and his wife Bridget, Mary Woolley and Pauline Jones.
Three speakers addressed the members during the afternoon, Hilary Jones (Chair North Wales Network) - ‘What the u3a can offer its members’; Derrick Gwilliam – ‘How Wrexham u3a was formed’ and Roz Benney – ‘A Walk through Wrexham’
